Dynamo Kiev were accused of attempting to bribe Spanish referee Lopez Nieto before their first
round home tie with Panathinaikos. They won the game 1-0.
AaB Aalborg whom Dynamo had beaten in the preliminary round were awarded Dinamo's place.
UEFA subsequently excluded Dynamo Kiev from European competitions for three years, including season 1995/96.
This ban was lifted in April 1996.
